How Greenpipe channels are made

The construction of a drainage channel is a long job which gives life to products regarding which Greenpipe knows all the history and individual characteristics.

 

DESIGN

For the technical department, market demands and customer requests are always the starting point for any study and design, together with fulfilment of the requirements imposed by the harmonised reference standard EN1433.

Upshot of this first phase is the design of a new channel, structurally sized according to its intended use, with customized sections and features, and with optimized grids thanks to the technical support of software that simulates behaviour under load to ensure excellent performance and original and bespoke solutions for each individual worksite.

 

CERTIFICATION

The design phase not only includes drafting the 3D and 2D graphic drawings, but also the certification process with all the relative load tests and the creation of a technical dossier (technical data sheets, installation instructions, calculation of the hydraulic capacity of the channels, declarations of performance (DoP), etc.), all of which are fundamental.

MANUFACTURE

Concrete channels are made using different moulds depending on the type of production technology (vibrocompression or casting) and raw materials (concrete with a more or less high water/cement ratio or HPC – High Performance Concrete). Structural calculations permit correctly sizing reinforcements, where required, to obtain self-supporting channels up to class F900.

 

ASSEMBLY AND DISTRIBUTION

At its headquarters, Greenpipe carries out storage, assembly and shipping to all Italian regions and other European countries.
The sale of assembled channels, i.e. with the grids already fixed, represents a considerable advantage for the customer, both because this way each product is individually controlled during assembly and because on-site installation operations are faster and leaner.

The production of a channel is a long process involving many Greenpipe industry experts who have always put their technical skills at the service of customer requirements, enhancing specificities and strengths.
